The Early Help Assessment Journey. Support, Resources and Information
In Manchester our safeguarding approach begins by ensuring children, young people and families receive information support and guidance as soon as needs arise or present themselves. Early Help and intervention should be made available by any agency/practitioner supporting children, young people and families. This process should begin by having first gained a holistic understanding of a family’s circumstance. Capturing the voices of all family members and exploring all areas of life, ensures that all family members are included in bringing about improvements and overcoming challenge and meeting the areas of need, they may be experiencing.
Access your EHA assessment, closure and and other forms via your One Stop Shop. For more information email jeff.burns@manchester.gov.uk or the Team Project Officer anthony.gilfillan@manchester.gov.uk.
Please remember your registered E.H.A is a shared recording of the needs identified following a Strength Based Conversation and the initial S.M.A.R.T plan agreed between you the parent. It is not a "referral form".
The Request for Early Help Support form ("referral") enables professionals to seek additional support in overcoming challenges associated with progressing an E.H.A journey. Alternatively you may require support in identifying the right agencies to help meet the identified needs of a family. Access the Request for Early Help Support form in the forms section below
Helping young people and families to help themselves begins with an understanding of what is important to them. Please see our Early Help information leaflets (below) for parents and teenagers. The leaflets provide families with an initial insight into Early Help. More importantly they provide an opportunity for individuals, to begin to explore the process of a holistic assessment for themselves.
