Aardvark Pre School and Nursery

The Aardvark Pre School and Nursery The setting is within easy access to the M25, A12 and mainline train link into London Liverpool Street – Harold Wood Station. As well as easy access to several bus routes and close to local primary schools.

We currently take children from the age of 2-4 years. Opening times are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm. We offer spaces for the early year’s entitlement education as well as the 2-year-old offer.

At Aardvark we have a Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator who attends continuous appropriate training. Our SENDCo is responsible for managing the children's educational needs and liaises closely with parents, staff, and professionals when identifying children’s needs and planning for intervention and support.

We also have an Equality Named Co-ordinator (ENCo) the purpose of this role is to help promote, co-ordinate and monitor equality of opportunity for our children and their families. Our ENCo works closely with our SENCo to achieve this. Equality is an important part of our work and is underpinned by legislative and policy requirements. If children are to achieve positive outcomes in life it is essential that their rights are promoted and protected.  We ensure that children at Aardvark are entitled to:

Equality – opportunities to develop and learn while their physical and emotional safety and well-being are protected

Inclusion – access to our setting and the experiences they offer

Diversity – the acknowledgment of and respect for their individuality

At Aardvark we implement the above by including every child in all aspects of the sessions and providing them with a safe and secure environment. Every child and adult who comes into the setting are treated as individuals, making sure they are welcomed, valued and accepted.

All members of staff have appropriate childcare qualifications and the equipment that we provide are of a good standard, safe and stimulating. The Manager is an Early Years Teacher and is responsible for organising and leading high-quality teaching practice in our early years setting. She believes in constant reflection upon practice. At Aardvark we have the understanding that there is always room for improvement and we always strive to do more. We believe change is important and are always willing to learn new things and try different approaches to provide quality childcare services to our parents/carers and their children. In addition, we have a range of risk assessments to ensure that our environment is kept safe and secure. Here at Aardvark, we are very proud of the relationship we have with all our parents.

We see the potential in each child and aim to support and extend their learning and development through carefully planned, learning experiences. When supporting our children and their families we will give Every child, Every chance, Every day.
