FIG Summer Playscheme

FIG provide playschemes during school holidays for disabled children aged 5-18 living in Havering. Playscheme operates during all school holidays except Christmas, typically 3 weeks in the summer, 1 week at Easter and for 2 days in each half term holiday. 

FIG Playgroup provides places for local children, and seeks funding to enable children with disabilities and additional needs to play and learn alongside their peers. Places are funded by Early Education Entitlement for 2, 3, and 4 year olds, or through the payment of fees. FIG also provides a Speech Project for children who attend the playgroup who have speech difficulties funded by BBC Children in Need. FIG Playgroup operates in our purpose built playroom and garden. 

FIG Playscheme is also based in our premises in Harold Hill and provides fun activities for children with disabilities aged 5-18 years old. Children are cared for on a one to one, or two to one ratio. We provide trips to places such as Diggerland, Willow Farm Village, Sea Side, Maldon and Outdoor Pursuit Centres, as well as onsite days, when art and craft activities, sand, water, games and outdoor play is provided. Entertainment such as a magician, wild animal visits and bouncy castles may also be provided. The activities provided help to build confidence and independence. Each year parents and children are asked to provide feedback, and the scheme has been adapted each year based on these views.
