St Laurence Pre School has been established for over 30 years. We are located in the heart of Upminster, situated just behind Upminster Library and are a stones throw away from the Park, local schools and are within a 10 minute walk to Upminster Station. Our location is perfect for you to drop off your child with ease.
Our dedicated team of qualified Early Years Practitioners have a wealth of experience and knowledge. Together we have created a safe and nurturing environment with a family atmosphere that allows your child to feel at home whilst in our care.
We are guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage and have a carefully planned academic curriculum which contributes to each child’s wellbeing, learning and development. We pride ourselves on working in close partnership with our families supporting each child to achieve their own goals and develop into resilient, confident, self assured individuals.
Our free flowing space from indoors to outdoors enables all of our ‘little learners’ the same opportunity to thrive in an environment that works for them. We have a large climbing frame in the garden and many outside resources (bikes, sand tables, mud kitchen, water play, etc) providing rich opportunities for your child to be able to immerse themselves in whatever interests them. New skills such as learning French, Phonics and Sign Language, are embedded through play expanding their knowledge of the world we live in.
As the saying goes, time moves fast when you’re having fun and in the blink of an eye the children will be preparing for their transition into full time education. To support them and you during this time, we have a well planned transition process and a close working relationship with our local schools who visit the setting each year to meet the children joining them in September. By the time the children fly our nest, they are more than ready for their next little journey in life.

St Laurence Pre School
Monday to Thursday: 7.30am - 6.00pm
Friday: 7.30am - 3.00pm
We open our Pre School doors term time only and then extend our services during the half term holidays offering a holiday club service. For further information on Holiday Club dates, please do not hesitate to reach out and we can advise on which dates we are open.

St Laurence Pre School offers the following sessions for children between the ages of 2 years to 4 years old:
- Pre School Session: 9.00am - 3.00pm
- Breakfast Club for St Laurence Pre Schoolers: 7.30am - 9.00am
- Full Wrap Around Care: 7.30am - 6.00pm
- Part Wrap Around Care: 9.00am - 6.00pm
For children between the ages of 4years old and 7 years old we offer a Breakfast and Afterschool club service for Upminster Infants Children only.

We accept children from 2yrs to 4 yrs.
Our annual intake for our Pre School starts at the beginning of September each year. If you have registered your child with us, we will contact you at the beginning of the year with regards to our September intake.

If your child would like to ‘top up’ their Pre School hours we are able to invoice you monthly.

Our Breakfast Club is open to children from St Laurence Pre School as well as children from 4yrs to 7yrs who attend Upminster Infants School.
What better way to start your child’s day! A qualified member of the team will welcome your child into the setting ready for a nutritious breakfast of healthy cereals, selection of fruit toppings, toast, fruit juices or milk. Once tummies are full, there is just enough time to socialise with friends.
At 8.30am, the children attending Upminster Infant School will be escorted there ready to start their school day.
We operate our Breakfast Club term time only.
After School Club (School Children): 3.00pm - 6.00pm
£15.00 Per session for school children only.
We accept children from 4yrs to 7yrs.
We collect children from Upminster Infants only from 3.00pm.
The children will be escorted to our Pre School hall for them to be able to wind down from their school day, play and socialise with friends.

Healthy snacks and refreshments are available for the children.

At 4.15pm the children will be offered a home cooked meal.

The option of play or movie time is offered before home time at 6.00pm.

The church carpark enables parents to drop off and pick up with ease. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO AUTHORISED PARKING FOR THE DAY. We are in walking distance of local schools, local amenities and less than a 10 minute walk to Upminster Station.

- For parents entitled to government funding you are authorised to use a maximum of 10 hours per day. Examples below... If your child is attending a Pre School Session, 9.00am - 3.00pm, you have the option to use 6 hours of your government. No extra costs. Parents supply snack and packed lunch. For any additional costs, for example if your child is attending a Full Wrap Around Care session and you have chosen the 'package deal' you are able to top up and will be invoiced monthly. Please note the preparation of any food brought into the setting needs to be prepared following government guidance that is set out within the environmental health requirements with regards to food safety risks, allergy and cross contamination risks and nutritional standards as well as the Pre Schools policy. For further information please contact the setting. We are proud to be able to support children who are entitled to Short Breaks funding during our Holiday Club.
Short Breaks
We are proud to be able to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are entitled to Short Break funding.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive setting and work closely with parents and local authorities to ensure we can provide the best care possible for children within our care.
Our setting is perfect for SEN children who are able to manage emotionally within a mainstream class room for the day.
We are an open plan setting with approximately 30 children per day.
Unfortunately we do not have the luxury of a ‘quiet room’ for children to be able to regulate, but have zones where children can have some ‘time out’ if needed.
