Havering Adult College (HAC) has been a leading provider of adult education in the borough since 1955, offering high‑quality learning opportunities that help adults gain new skills, improve career prospects, and explore personal interests. What You Can Learn

HAC provides an extensive range of part‑time courses designed to support personal, professional, and creative development. Current subject areas include:

  • English & Maths (including Functional Skills) – free for eligible learners
  • ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
  • ICT & Digital Skills, including Essential Digital Skills (free for all adults 19+)
  • Creative Industries, including Graphic Design, Web Design, Photography, Video Production, Art & Design, Sewing, Sugarcraft, and Floristry
  • Health & Social Care – with a newly expanded curriculum
  • Business, Finance & Employability – including online flexible learning options
  • Languages, including British Sign Language
  • Teaching Assistants & Early Years Practitioner Training – Levels 1–3 and full Teacher Training qualifications
  • Family Learning & Community Learning for parents, carers, and local residents

HAC also offers one‑day workshops across creative, digital, wellbeing, and leisure subjects—ideal for trying something new.
