Our ethos is built on inclusivity, energy, and genuine respect. We welcome adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities or autism, creating a warm, dynamic, and engaging space where everyone feels valued, understood, and excited to get involved.
We offer a fun, supportive environment filled with structure, encouragement, and meaningful activities that spark confidence and connection. Our approach is designed for people who may not always see themselves as confident or capable, helping them discover their strengths, build new skills, and enjoy being part of a lively, empowering community.
We champion individuality, celebrate achievements big and small, and make sure every person can participate fully, thrive socially, and have a genuinely enjoyable experience. We believe that purposeful activity transforms lives. Community‑based programmes—creative, social, educational, or practical—break down barriers, build confidence, and support people to lead fulfilling, dignified, and independent lives. We see these positive changes every day.
The Avelon Road Centre continues to grow as a place where adults feel safe, supported, and connected. Our commitment remains constant: to provide opportunity, community, and meaningful engagement for everyone who walks through our doors.

Anyone can make a referral. If you have a social worker, we recommend that they make the referral for you—they can share key details about your situation and offer support every step of the way.
Once we have received your referral, we will contact you to discuss your requirements.
You are welcome to arrange a visit to the Centre. You can come with a parent, carer, or social worker—whichever is most suitable. We look forward to meeting you and showing you around!
A two-way assessment will be arranged. The potential client will spend several hours at the Centre, without their parent, carer, or social worker. This process allows both the client and our team to become acquainted in a supportive environment and determine if we are the right fit.
If everyone agrees the placement is suitable, the next step is to contact the allocated social worker (whether in or out of the borough) to discuss key details, including finances, transport arrangements, and any potential 1:1 support needs. We’re here to help guide you through each step.
Once finances and paperwork are complete, we will offer a start date. We will be delighted to welcome you to our Centre!
