Wingletye Pre-School 1
Welcome to Wingle-Tye 1 situated in the Infants Department of Nelmes School. Wingle-Tye 1 was founded by mums who wanted an environment that was not only educational but most of all friendly and fun for their children and where parents felt confident in the knowledge that their children were safe.
Our staff ratios are high and turnover is low - so we develop strong relationships with the children.
We pride ourselves on our personal approach to each individual child, meeting the family's needs - especially during those first few weeks of settling in where it can be an anxious time for both parents and child We aim to provide an educational programme for the care of children in the local community within a healthy, safe and stimulating environment. Staff are experienced and qualified with a high expectation for academic achievement while respecting and valuing individuals.
Wingle-Tye is to be enjoyed. we aim to teach learning through play with plenty of stories to help with listening and language skills and games to enable number recognition. We offer a varied selection of activities which will promote the development of fine and gross motor skills - all mixed in with lots of sharing and socialising, which are very important skills for preparing children for school. We follow the Letters and Sounds technique throughout the setting, leading on to basic phonics. With have good liaisons with Nelmes School reception teachers.
