Training and Support for Parents and Carers

Parents and carers have an important role in shaping the mental health of their children and young people. Parents and carers can access training and resources for supporting children and young people as well as themselves.

Monster inside - family training

The project runs for 3 weeks with the children in one workshop and the parents/carers in another workshop running simultaneously, with both groups working on the same topic each week. In week 3 both groups are brought together to discover what has been learnt.

The programme aims to:

- Increase parents' understanding and management of a challenging child

- Introduce strategies and rules within the family unit

- Children and young people will have a better understanding of the triggers that send them into red mist moments

- How to develop appropriate peer relationships that support them rather than hinder their progress: addup@addup.co.uk
