Social, Emotional and Mental Health Support Team (SEMH)
Our team of specialist advisory teachers and advisors support the positive inclusion of children and young people from 5-19 years with identified social, emotional and mental health needs in Havering schools. Their specialist work includes:
- Providing training or CPD opportunities to peers, teaching and support staff.
- Modelling specialist interventions and strategies in schools, which promote an understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs, and enable CYP with SEMH needs to flourish at school.
- Supporting the SENCo and other school staff to create, review, adapt and implement specific support plans for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Enhancing pupil voice to foster self-advocacy and independence.
- Supporting teaching staff with assessment and monitoring of CYPs' progress using appropriate tools and platforms.
