The Shaw Centre is a friendly, activity-based day service in Redbank, Manchester, supporting adults with learning disabilities to develop skills, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful experiences.

We provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where people can socialise, build friendships, and take part in a wide range of engaging activities, including:

  • Creative arts

  • Radio broadcasting

  • Drama projects

  • Exercise sessions

  • Gardening

  • Community outings

Our focus is on promoting independence, wellbeing, and personal growth, while giving carers and families peace of mind. We work closely with each individual to encourage active participation, celebrate achievements, and support them in reaching their full potential.

The Shaw Centre welcomes referrals through social care, as well as direct enquiries from families and carers.

If you are interested in a place at The Shaw Centre, please speak to your social worker. We are a recognised provider with Manchester City Council, and any new referrals are assessed by a social worker who will determine the appropriate level of support: low, medium, or complex needs. This assessment helps to decide the funding level required.

If you manage your own personal budget, you can also choose to self-fund your place by contacting us directly.
