The Royal Exchange Theatre

Royal Exchange Theatre Logo

Here at the Royal Exchange Theatre we tell and share amazing stories both on and off the stage. Our iconic, spaceship-like theatre-in-the-round can be found in the centre of Manchester, a vibrant and exciting global city with a million stories to share.

We love making entertaining and breath-taking theatre. We are proud to support and work alongside established and emerging directors, writers, designers and theatre-makers to create radical and ambitious work here in Manchester. Believing in new ideas and championing artists at all levels creates a vibrant platform for theatre making. We are proud to be a home for new writing and World Premieres.

The communities we work with across the city are dynamic, determined and wonderfully passionate. We are thrilled to be able to build strong creative partnerships with these brilliant individuals and community groups, nurturing long-lasting relationships between us and the people of Greater Manchester.
Audiences and communities are at the heart of everything we do, and they have inspired us to make brave, bold, joyful and entertaining theatre since 1976.

We invite everyone to ‘come round ours’ to bring the world’s most powerful stories to life.
