Rebound Therapy
Delivered from our state-of-the-art Rebound Room, this treatment uses trampolines to provide opportunities for enhanced movement patterns, therapeutic positioning, exercise and recreation. Rebound is used to enhance movement patterns, develop and promote motor skills, body awareness, balance, coordination, and communication.
Hydrotherapy
Led by a Physiotherapist in our inclusive hydrotherapy pool, this treatment utilises the properties of warm water to enable individuals to feel supported whilst experiencing free movement. Hydrotherapy has many benefits, including improved balance and co-ordination, stimulated circulation and reduced muscle tension.
Assessment and Treatment
Regular physiotherapy can improve mobility, muscle strength and joint range, decrease pain, and enhance engagement in activities of daily living.
• Comprehensive assessment prior to treatment
• Treatment can be offered in any suitable environment, from the CYA’s educational setting, in the home, onsite at Seashell
• High quality and effective exercise programmes can be produced for use outside of treatment sessions
• Delivery of training to the individuals support team ensuring consistency
• Generic training is also available around condition and disability awareness

The Seashell physiotherapy service has been developed to support young people with long term conditions who may be struggling to access treatment in their local/community services.
Our state-of-the-art Hydrotherapy Pool and Rebound Room are situated in The Moulding Foundation Building. These environments are both fun, stimulating and fully inclusive to all levels of disabilities. Our hydrotherapy pool features a platform lift allowing accessibility without the use of a hoist, and underwater speakers and colour changing lights. Our rebound room is level access and we have a number of supports and equipment to make sessions engaging.
The Physiotherapy Team are specialists and have many years of experience in supporting children and young adults with various diagnosis and conditions. Assessment and rehabilitation is adapted on a case by case basis.
Additionally, our specialist Health and Therapy team can support with additional concerns or questions which may arise during assessment. This team consists of nurses, audiologists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
