Strive provides a supportive, low-impact environment using small groups to deliver nationally recognised qualifications.

Strive Academy provide vocational support and qualifications for learners that struggle to engage with mainstream or larger education settings. We work with learners aged 13 to 24 on our Central Manchester and Stalybridge sites.

We deliver:

  • Construction
  • Sport and Fitness
  • Barbering
  • Hair and Beauty
  • Health and Social Care
  • Travel and Tourism
  • Music Technology
  • Media
  • Functional skills in English and Maths

We also provide our Rekindle Programme that supports learners who struggle to attend any form of education. This is a staged approach that incorporates positive activities within the community, building self-esteem and engagement moving towards re-engagement with school or other formal learning environments.

Pre-16 we can provide up to three days vocational or outreach support for learners to support their school journey.

Post-16 we provide bespoke vocational qualification packages, to ensure disadvantaged learners are given a pathway back to their future. Functional skills English and maths and social development and support through ASDAN Life Skills challenges are included as an integral part of the course.

At Strive Academy we provide an alternative educational setting which encourages learners to explore different methods of learning and development. Through our vocational offer, learners have a wide range of opportunities to engage with hands-on training with embedded academic content. All programmes are built in a creative and bespoke manner to suit the needs of the learner and maximise their emotional, social and academic progress, whilst also equipping them with the core skills to progress in their chosen vocational area into work or further study.

Strive predominantly supports complex learners who have found formal learning environments challenging. We engage learners within small groups (up to ten) or can provide 1 to 1 bespoke learning packages. All courses have either qualification outcomes or agreed SEMH/engagement outcomes.

Please have a look at the website for more information or contact for us a chat to discuss how we can help with your future plans.

Other notes
Strive specialise in working with learners with complex needs. We currently work with learners that have diagnosis of: ASC, ADHD, ARN, ODD, PDA, EBSA, SEMH, MLD, SpLD, SEMH and attachment/trauma difficulties. Our staff have extensive experience and training in working with complex learners. We have two qualified SENCOs that ensure the needs of learners are met. We believe that given the correct environment, nurture based approach and curriculum that all learners can experience success. Formal classroom based learning is not for everyone and a more hands on, practical approach to education can provide young people with a new connection with learning they may have lost.
