Other notes

The Seashell audiology service has been developed to support children and young adults with complex disabilities who may struggle to get their needs met in local/community audiology services.

Our Audiology Suite is based in The Moulding Foundation building, which is purpose built to be a calm, safe environment for young people with complex needs. There is direct access from the outside of the building into the suite, preventing any need to travel through the building, or sit in waiting areas. The suite was specifically designed with visual and sensory features to ensure the room is both welcoming and functional for assessing hearing based on the needs of the individual.

Our Audiology Team are specialists; supporting children and young adults with various diagnoses and conditions, adapting assessment and rehabilitation to support those with varying need.

Additionally, our specialist Health and Therapy team can support with additional concerns or questions which may arise during assessment. This team consists of nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
