Bury Hospice

Bury Hospice provides specialist palliative care to adults with any life limiting illness.
Care is provided though our 8 bed inpatient facility. Here we support patients and families through individual assessment and the delivery of specialist nursing and medical care. Our dedicated team provide holistic support in the management of complex symptoms and end of life care for those who wish to die in the Hospice.
Our Bury Hospice Community Outreach team, who have extensive knowledge and skills in palliative care, provide support to patients and their families in their own home through the provision of education, personal, practical and emotional support. we can also offer respite care to enable family members /carers to have a much needed break. This is offered in the patient's home, either through short pre-planned respite visits during the day or Tuesday to Thursdays overnight. During our assessment we may also signpost patients and their families to other services.
Our Supportive Care services includes a hospice liaison nurse who can facilitate timely access to all our services, a complementary therapy service, provision of chemotherapy and phlebotomy in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust Closer to Home Service, and a Motor Neurone Disease clinic held by Northern Care Alliance. Also part of our supportive care services is Medical Outpatients clinic.
Bereavement/family support is offered to any family member or friend of someone who has died in the care of any of the Hospice services. This support is offered on a one-to-one basis at the hospice in a quiet, calm and private environment. Telephone support is also available.
We run two bereavement drop-in cafés a month for 18years+, at Tesco Superstore, Woodfields Retail Park, Bury and Radcliffe Library, Stand Lane, Radcliffe. Everyone is welcome
We run a family support group for families with children aged 5-11 years 4 times a year, who have experienced a significant bereavement
