Young Carer Support At MEA Central

This is for pupils attending our school.
We will deliver regular whole school assemblies, raising awareness for young carers.
We are going to communicate with our parents to request that they notify us if their child has caring responsibilities. We will have a young carers display board, which will include the young carers rights and additional services on offer
We will have drop in sessions, where our young carers students can have time with the pastoral team. We will give the opportunity for young carers to spend time with one another.
Our young Carers can access, all of our extra-curricular clubs - including homework club
We offer Early Help Assessments and assess the needs of young carers, along with adopting a whole family approach. We will use the MACA and PANOC.
We are committed to working towards Young Carer's in School Award.
We will collaborate with our feeder schools and colleges to make sure our young carers are supported to have a seamless transition.
