We are a Young Carer friendly school. 

  • We are committed to recognising and supporting the young carers within our school community.
  • We aim to achieve a Young Carer in School Award as part of our ongoing development.
  • We will deliver whole‑school assemblies to help everyone understand the role and experiences of young carers.
  • We will communicate with parents and guardians through letters to highlight the support available in school.
  • Young carers are welcome to attend our breakfast club.
  • We provide Wellbeing lunch clubs tailored specifically for young carers.
  • We run weekly drop‑in opportunities where young carers can meet and spend time together.
  • Young carers are able to take part in our after‑school activities.
  • We will maintain close links with our Early Help Hubs and carry out Early Help Assessments when needed.
  • We will use a range of tools and resources to assist with the Young Carer Early Help assessment process.
  • We will invite external agencies and support services into school to work directly with our young carers.
  • We will collaborate with our feeder schools and their young carer champions to ensure smooth and supportive transitions.
