Young Carer Support at Church of England School of the Resurrection

Church of England School of the Resurrection

This service is for young people attending our school and the wider community we serve. We are new with our journey to support young carers and value the support of parents and carers in our journey.

Our plan moving forward is to:

  • Support pupils with strength-based conversations and an assessment to identify their needs as a young carer and regular update our young carers register
  • Deliver whole school young carer assemblies
  • Young carer drop in sessions
  • Regular communication with home
  • Keep a designated young carer’s display board and support them to access services

We are committed to the young carers in our school and in Manchester and are looking to achieve the Carers Trust UK Young Carers in School awards.

We will invite guest services into our school specifically to support our young carers and work with other schools and services to support transitions.
