This training is for you if you would like to learn how to look after your bike and carry out simple maintenance. - Know what to check before you ride
Intermediate Bicycle Maintenance
If you already know how to maintain your bike but want to keep it in tip-top condition (and save money on repairs), this one’s for you. The course is provided at the subsidised cost of £30 in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) You book via TFGM website, ask inside the shop for more details. You will learn how to:
- Adjust your brakes and gears
- Inspect and replace cables
- Check and maintain your chain
- Run a routine service

- Want to have 1-2-1 employment coaching/support?
- Want to be a bicycle mechanic?
- Want a free bike and kit?
- Want a national cycling qualification?
We can offer you:
- Nationally accredited cycling repair / maintenance and ride leader qualifications
- An opportunity to renovate a bike, that is yours to keep along with bike lights, helmet and a quality lock
- Retail / shop experience with a work placement in one of our cycle shops
- Experience the National Cycling Velodrome and try out the World Class BMX racing track
- Support to access further education, training and employment. Including access to 1-2-1 employment support etc
- All fully funded
