The Edward Mayes Trust

As an alms-house charity founded in 1635, our mission is as relevant as ever.
We exist to provide modern, safe and independent homes in Greater Manchester that:
- Are affordable, modern and well maintained in order to meet the evolving needs of older people
- Enable people to enjoy a good quality of life in a supportive, peaceful and safe environment
- Support residents to stay connected with relatives and friends through community links and social activities
Our sheltered accommodation combines the peace of mind of secure, self-contained bungalows and apartments with a sense of community created by our communal residents’ lounge and shared private gardens.
Our Scheme Manager acts as a ‘good neighbour’ to all of our residents; providing information, signposting and reassurance as well as being responsible for the maintenance of our properties. A 24 hour call system allows all of our residents to gain assistance in the event of an emergency.
