Located in Newton Heath, three miles outside Manchester, Averill House is a purpose-built care home offering dementia care.
This spacious care home offers plenty of places for residents to enjoy meals, hobbies or simply socialise, with four sitting rooms, two dining areas, a dedicated activities and entertainment room and a hairdressing salon. The large landscaped garden is a popular location and includes a delightful sensory area. The bright, comfortable bedrooms are all easily accessible by wheelchair. Some rooms have garden views.
The home’s dedicated care team has created a warm, family atmosphere, and encourages everyone to eat together and to plan and celebrate special occasions with one another. Residents are invited to decorate their rooms with small items of their own furniture and treasured belongings so that it feels just like home. Daily life is thoughtfully designed to support mind, body and soul.

To travel by car from Manchester city centre: take Oldham Road (A62) towards Oldham, then turn right onto Old Church Street. Averill Street is on your left, where you’ll find the home.
To travel by car from the M60: exit at Junction 22, follow signs for Manchester/Oldham (A62), then turn left onto Old Church Street and left again onto Averill Street.
To travel by tram the nearest stop is Newton Heath and Moston, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the home.
To travel by bus: there are several local bus routes stop along Oldham Road (A62), within a short walk of the home.
