Ethnic Minority Groups: Wai Yin Society

Wai Yin Logo

Wai Yin is committed to serving the wider community and to extending its reach to other ethnic minority groups. We developed partnerships in the past with a number of ethnic minority women’s groups, including the Somali Women’s Forum, the Eritrean Women Society, Women of the Far East (Sudanese) and the Libyan Welfare Association.

Partnership projects continually change and new ones evolve. Our specially trained workers and volunteers provide a luncheon club, exercise classes and social activities and excursions for older Somali women. Our Welcome Centre, Cheetham Hill, is a drop in centre for peoples from all over the world wishing to make a home in Manchester.
