Local Offer logo

Here is some Government information about apprenticeships:

Is an apprenticeship right for you?

You can get extra support during your apprenticeship if you have a:

  • learning difficulty
  • disability
  • physical or mental health condition

Here is some further Government information around this support:

Support for apprentices with a learning difficulty or disability

You should have an initial assessment with your employer and training provider before starting your apprenticeship. After you’ve been assessed, your training provider will make any reasonable adjustments that you need. They may also be able to claim financial support towards these adjustments. These are called learning support payments and are paid to your training provider.

You may also be eligible for an Access to Work grant to help pay for things like BSL interpreters, adapations to a vehicle so you can get to work, or a support worker.
