Senses of Responsibility – A Young Carers Awareness Resource

As part of our commitment to raising awareness and improving support for young carers, Manchester City Council commissioned a filmed version of the play Senses of Responsibility, a powerful and thought-provoking piece developed in partnership with Lekhani Chirwa, — actress, playwright, facilitator and youth worker. 

Winner of the Manchester Culture Award in the Culture and Education category, this original work explores the lived experiences of young carers and the impact of professional interventions across education, health, and social care. It also delves into key themes such as friendship, identity, and aspirations, offering a compelling tool for both awareness and professional development.
