Oral Health

Oral health care is vital to general wellbeing, allowing people to eat, communicate verbally and socialise without discomfort or embarrassment. Good oral health helps to support individuals in participating in society and achieving their full potential and therefore it is important that parents and carers are fully aware of how best to look after both their own and their children's teeth.

A vital part of good oral hygiene is attending regular dental check-ups. A check-up allows your dentist to see if you have any dental problems and helps you keep your mouth healthy. Leaving problems untreated could make them more difficult to treat in the future, so it's best to deal with problems early, or, if possible, prevent them altogether. If you need help with an urgent dental problem, call the Urgent Dental Care Service on 0333 332 3800, available from 8am to 10pm every day, including weekends and bank holidays.
